Terms and Conditions of Sale for Lane's Clink Liquor Ltd (Company Number: 16947321, Registered Office: Touchwood, The Paddocks, Hollybush Lane, Denham, Uxbridge, England, UB9 4HG). Website: lanesclinkliquor.com. Last updated: 22 September 2026.
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions of Sale (“Terms”) apply to purchases made through the Lane’s Clink Liquor website.
The website and products offered through it are operated and sold by Lane’s Clink Liquor Ltd (“Lane’s Clink Liquor”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16947321.
By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Age restriction – 18+
You must be aged 18 or over to purchase alcohol from Lane’s Clink Liquor.
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- the information you provide to us is accurate;
- you are legally entitled to purchase alcohol; and
- alcohol purchased from us will not be supplied or passed to anyone under the age of 18.
We reserve the right to carry out age-verification checks before accepting or fulfilling an order.
Where required, our delivery partners may also conduct age verification at the point of delivery.
3. Challenge 25 and proof of age
Lane’s Clink Liquor supports responsible alcohol retailing and may operate a Challenge 25 policy.
If the person receiving an alcohol delivery appears to be under 25, they may be required to provide acceptable proof that they are aged 18 or over before the alcohol is handed over.
Acceptable identification may include an appropriate:
- passport;
- photocard driving licence;
- PASS-accredited proof-of-age card; or
- qualifying digital proof of age where accepted by us or our delivery provider and permitted by applicable law.
Identification must satisfy the applicable legal requirements.
If satisfactory proof of age cannot be provided, the delivery may be refused.
We will not be responsible for delivery costs or other reasonable costs resulting from a failed delivery where the recipient cannot provide satisfactory proof of age.
4. Refusal of delivery
We and our delivery partners reserve the right to refuse to hand over alcohol where reasonably necessary to comply with licensing law, our premises licence or our responsible retailing policies.
This may include circumstances where:
- satisfactory proof of age cannot be provided;
- nobody aged 18 or over is available to accept the delivery;
- there are reasonable grounds to believe the alcohol has been purchased for a person under 18;
- the recipient is visibly intoxicated and delivery would breach applicable licensing requirements or conditions;
- the delivery address or recipient does not correspond with the order where verification is required; or
- completing the delivery would otherwise breach applicable law or a condition of the relevant premises licence.
Alcohol must not be left unattended or in a nominated “safe place” where doing so would breach our delivery policy, carrier requirements or applicable licensing conditions.
5. Placing an order
Products displayed on our website are invitations to place an order and do not constitute an offer by us to sell.
When you submit an order, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket.
After receiving your order, we may send an acknowledgement confirming that we have received it. An acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
A binding contract between you and Lane’s Clink Liquor is formed when we confirm that your order has been accepted or when the goods are dispatched, whichever our checkout process specifies.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
- a product is unavailable;
- an obvious pricing or description error has occurred;
- payment has not been authorised;
- we are unable to verify your age;
- we suspect fraud or unauthorised use of payment details;
- fulfilling the order would breach licensing requirements; or
- delivery cannot lawfully be made to the requested location.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled goods.
6. Products
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs and other information appearing on our website are accurate.
Product packaging, labels, bottle designs, colours and presentation may occasionally vary from photographs shown on the website.
Such variations will not affect your statutory rights where goods do not conform to the contract.
Alcohol percentages, ingredients, allergens and other legally required product information should be checked on the product page and, where appropriate, on the product packaging before consumption.
If you have an allergy or intolerance, please check the product information carefully before purchasing or consuming the product.
7. Prices
All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (£ GBP) unless otherwise stated.
Prices payable by UK consumers will include VAT and other applicable taxes where legally required.
Delivery charges and any other additional charges will be clearly displayed before you submit your order.
We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not normally affect orders that we have already accepted.
If an obvious pricing error occurs, we are not required to supply a product at an obviously incorrect price. We will contact you and give you the opportunity to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.
8. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered during checkout.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
Payment may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Their own terms and privacy arrangements may also apply to the processing of your payment.
Orders may be subject to fraud-prevention and age-verification checks.
9. Delivery
We currently deliver only to locations shown as available during checkout.
Estimated delivery dates or times are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise.
We will take reasonable steps to deliver within the estimated delivery period, but circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally cause delays.
These may include severe weather, transport disruption, courier delays, industrial action, supply-chain disruption or other events outside our reasonable control.
Where consumer law provides you with specific rights concerning late delivery, those rights are unaffected by these Terms.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
10. Receiving alcohol
Alcohol deliveries must be received in accordance with our age-verification requirements and any applicable conditions attached to the licence under which the alcohol is sold.
The person accepting the delivery may be asked to provide proof of age.
Our courier may refuse delivery where the applicable age-verification requirements cannot be satisfied.
We may restrict deliveries to residential or business addresses and may prohibit deliveries to public places where required by our licence, courier arrangements or responsible retailing policy.
11. Failed delivery
Where delivery cannot be completed because:
- nobody eligible to receive the alcohol is available;
- appropriate proof of age cannot be provided;
- an incorrect or incomplete address has been supplied; or
- delivery is refused for legitimate licensing or age-verification reasons,
the goods may be returned to us or held by the courier for redelivery.
Where permitted by law, we may deduct reasonable additional delivery or return costs from any refund where the failed delivery resulted from circumstances for which the customer was responsible.
This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
12. Cancellation – online orders
Where the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 apply, consumers purchasing online will normally have the right to cancel their contract without giving a reason.
Unless a statutory exception applies, you may normally cancel your order within 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you, receives the goods.
To exercise your cancellation right, you must clearly inform us of your decision to cancel within the applicable cancellation period.
You then normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
Statutory exceptions to cancellation rights may apply to certain products, including goods that deteriorate or expire rapidly, certain personalised products and certain sealed goods where applicable legislation removes the cancellation right once the seal has been broken.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
13. Returns following cancellation
Unless the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning goods following a change-of-mind cancellation.
Products should be returned appropriately packaged to prevent damage in transit.
You are responsible for any reduction in the value of goods resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
For alcohol products, opening a bottle or consuming part of its contents may materially reduce its value and may affect the refund to which you are entitled, subject always to your statutory rights.
Please contact us before returning products so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.
14. Refunds
Where you validly exercise a statutory cancellation right, we will refund the payments due to you in accordance with applicable consumer law.
This will normally include the basic cost of delivering the goods to you. If you selected a delivery method costing more than our least expensive standard delivery option, we are not required to refund the additional delivery cost.
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.
We may withhold a refund until we have received the returned goods or you provide satisfactory evidence that you have returned them, where permitted by law.
15. Damaged, faulty or incorrect goods
Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible if your order arrives:
- damaged;
- faulty;
- incorrectly supplied;
- materially different from its description; or
- otherwise not of satisfactory quality.
We may ask you to provide photographs of damaged products or packaging to help us investigate the issue.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to remedies including a refund, replacement or other remedy provided by law.
16. Broken bottles and transit damage
If bottles are broken or damaged during delivery, please do not consume the affected product.
Please retain the product and packaging where it is safe to do so and contact us promptly with details of the damage.
We may request photographs of the bottle, packaging and delivery label so that we can investigate the matter with our delivery provider.
Your statutory rights are unaffected.
17. Promotional codes and offers
Promotional codes, discounts and special offers may be subject to additional conditions.
Unless otherwise stated:
- promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- only one promotional code may be used per order;
- codes cannot be applied retrospectively;
- promotions may have an expiry date;
- promotions may be limited to particular products or customers; and
- promotions may be withdrawn where permitted by law.
Nothing in a promotion overrides your statutory rights.
18. Responsible drinking
Lane’s Clink Liquor supports the responsible consumption of alcohol.
Our products should be enjoyed responsibly and only by people legally entitled to purchase and consume alcohol.
Never purchase alcohol for anyone under the age of 18.
19. Our liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so.
In particular, nothing excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any liability or consumer right which cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was entered into.
Products purchased through our consumer website are supplied for private and domestic use unless otherwise agreed. We are therefore not responsible for business losses arising from consumer purchases, to the extent permitted by law.
20. Events outside our control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where such an event materially affects your order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and will contact you where appropriate.
Your statutory rights, including any applicable rights relating to delayed delivery or cancellation, remain unaffected.
21. Personal information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data-protection legislation.
Information may be shared with delivery providers, payment processors, age-verification providers and other service providers where reasonably necessary to process an order, verify age, prevent fraud or deliver products.
Please refer to our separate Privacy Policy for further information.
22. Intellectual property
The Lane’s Clink Liquor name, branding, product artwork, photographs, graphics, written material and other website content are owned by or licensed to Lane’s Clink Liquor Ltd unless otherwise stated.
They must not be reproduced, distributed or used commercially without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
23. Website availability
We aim to keep our website available and accurate but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may temporarily suspend, withdraw or change parts of the website for maintenance, security, operational or other legitimate reasons.
24. Changes to these terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, delivery arrangements, technology, licensing requirements or applicable law.
The Terms applying to your purchase will normally be those in force when you place your order.
The latest version will be published on our website together with its revision date.
25. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
26. Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce any right under these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.
27. Third-party rights
Unless expressly stated otherwise, no person other than you and Lane’s Clink Liquor Ltd has any right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
28. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any contract between you and Lane’s Clink Liquor Ltd are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you will retain any mandatory protections and rights available to you under the laws applicable to you.
Consumers living in England or Wales may bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also have the right to bring proceedings in their local courts.
29. Complaints
If you are unhappy with a product or service supplied by Lane’s Clink Liquor, please contact us so that we can attempt to resolve the matter.
Please provide your name, order number and details of the issue.
Nothing in our complaints procedure affects your statutory rights.
